Selling a rental time share is a difficult thing to do. That doesn't mean that it is impossible, however, and with a little bit of ingenuity, and the right place to market, you should be able to sell it in a reasonable amount of time. Time share resale is a large market and as more and more people get into purchasing timeshares that they really don't either want or can afford, then finding a place in which to sell your top timeshares becomes an even more important thing. Here are three ways of selling a rental time share and how you can avoid the potential pitfalls of spending more money without the possibility of ever dumping the timeshare that you didn't want in the first place. The timeshare companies are really slick. They offer you free things in order to get you to come in and tour their property, which of course they make look absolutely beautiful. Many people are talked into purchasing timeshares that they really did not want, simply because the salesperson was good at their craft. This can be a real problem both for you and for the timeshare company. If you are unable to keep up on your payments, then it will go into foreclosure or collection and will completely ruin your credit rating. If you are able to keep up on the payments but unable to afford the extra expense of using the timeshare then you simply have a monthly payment with no benefit whatsoever. Lining the streets of many timeshare areas are billboards that offer to sell your timeshare for you. Selling a rental time share is not that easy of a thing to do, however. Many of these companies will charge you a $300 premium or more simply to list your timeshare with them. It will then take a year or more for your timeshare to sell and sometimes it may never sell at all. During this time you will still be responsible for taking care of any timeshare payments, including those that are simply for maintenance. It is not guaranteed that you will sell your timeshare if you go with one of these companies. It's like sticking $300 into a timeshare slot machine. There are also websites that will tell you that you can sell your timeshare online. There have been some cases where timeshares have sold at these online websites but they are few and far between. Time share resale is a very tricky thing and unless you own a premium property it will be difficult for you to use one of these online systems to find a buyer. The good news is that these websites are often free to list your timeshare so it really doesn't cost you anything but time. In order to sell your timeshare you will need to be persistent in your efforts. It is impossible to say whether your timeshare will sell quickly or if it will ever sell at all, but one thing is for certain if you do not list your timeshare for resale it will never sell at all. |
